About Maplewind

Maplewind Arts is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate, support and create an understanding for and love of the arts.We offer courses, ensembles, exhibits, performances and special events in music, dance, theater, art and creative writing and are open from September to June with special summer programs.

Maplewind is open to everyone regardless of age or performing arts experience and offers to serve those living in and around Hubbardston. Maplewind is located at 2 Main St., Hubbardston, MA in the lower level of the First Parish Unitarian Church on the Common, across the street from the Hubbardston Center School.

STAFF

Founder & Director, Music Instructor - Russell Killough-Miller for 25 years Russell has taught, composed, arranged, performed and conducted jazz, classical and rock music for grades K-12, college, graduate school, community and professional groups throughout the US and Europe.

Art Instructor - Renee Malowitz has been a teaching artist for 30 years including classroom teacher, freelance artists, business owner, theater design/artist and consultant. Renee sketches and paints, creating works that are vibrant and from the heart.

Creative Writing Instructor - Rhonda Hamer has been teaching in a variety of areas for over 20 years from preschoolers to adults. Her own writing experience spans 25 years and includes freelance writing and photography for a variety of news media and magazines.

Dance Instructor - Renee Carleen has been dancing since age 4, been a dance teacher and choreographer at studios in Boston and was artistic director of Wilmington Dance. Her dancers have earned gold medals and special judges awards in competition.

Theater Instructor - Donna Farrell has been active in theater as actor, director, stage manager and board member since 1984. She has a keen insight into motivating actors and teaches with grace and love of theater.
